Membership of PLWHA Victoria is open to any person affected by HIV/AIDS in who accepts the rules of the Association. For the purpose of membership, a person affected by HIV/AIDS is defined as: people infected with HIV; their partners; their family members; and people directly involved with people infected with HIV. Membership of PLWHA Victoria is a tangible way to show your support for the work of the Association and the principles that the Association tries to uphold.
There are two divisions of membership:
(i) full membership, which is available to people infected with HIV;
(ii) associate membership, which is available to people described as affected by HIV/AIDS. Associate members shall not have the right to vote or hold office. Membership to PLWHA Victoria is free.
To become a member please contact our office for an application form, download and print out the form above, or fill in the one on the back of each issue of PosLink. It is important to declare which membership type you are applying for and sign the declaration.
As soon as practicable after receiving your nomination for membership, the Board shall determine whether to approve or reject your nomination. The Association shall then, on approval of the application for membership, enter your name in the register of members and, upon the name being so entered, you become a member of the Association.
Volunteers! We Want You!
We always welcome volunteers with a few spare hours a week to help us with various projects throughout the year and specific projects like Planet Positive, our Treatment Interactive Events and Positive Plots. You can choose how involved you want to get; from mail outs and administration to event co-ordination and publicity design, we’ve got a role for you!
